Beware the Stinger!

To make a Stinger:

ice
2 oz. Cognac
1 oz. white (not green) Creme de Menthe
lemon twist

Fill a mixing glass two-thirds full with ice. Add the cognac and white creme de menthe. Shake well, then strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with three or four ice cubes (not crushed ice). Garnish with a lemon twist.

I got the recipe from Washington Post Spirits columnist Jason Wilson. Can you believe there's such thing as a spirits columnist?

So tasty but beware - have too many and you could end up in bed 'til noon the next day!

Thanks for this recipe, and for all the great winter and summer bar tips.

This looks like just the thing after a long day of snow removal, or an exhausting day of Christmas shopping.

Ho Ho Ho to the stinger I go!

laughed at your post as jason wilson is a friend and i cannot eblieve he actually holds that position either - but we're his test audience and are always drinking his concoctions. nice work if you can get it.

Personally I'm grateful that there is such a thing. Thankfully he's good at it too. I've liked everything he's recommended. I'd follow him like a zombie.
